The mudslides began amid two weeks of
torrential rains, which flooded and
destabilized mountainside soils....
Survivors said they could see no houses, no
roof of any building, nothing standing.
Guinsahugon village now appears totally
destroyed by the mudslide...as many as
1,800 of the missing are feared dead...
